I used to laugh at people who swore by Japanese pull saws until I tried one on a tricky miter
For years I thought they were just a gimmick for hobbyists. Then last month I was doing a custom picture frame with some really brittle walnut, and my regular back saw kept tearing out chunks. A guy on site handed me his Suizan pull saw and said 'trust me'. The cut was cleaner than anything I've gotten from a push saw, and it took half the effort. Now I keep one in my bag for fine joinery. Are pull saws actually better for precision work, or did I just get lucky with that one cut?

My old tape measure taught me that lesson.

idk, is it really that deep? Tape measures stretch a little over time but it's not like it's gonna give you a wildly wrong measurement unless you're building a spaceship or something.
