Cut a door slab into firewood after a 3 hour fight

I spent way too long trying to hang a prehung interior door that was slightly out of square. After 3 hours of shimming and planing on a Thursday job in Portland, I finally gave up and cut the whole thing up for scrap. It took me 30 minutes to drive to the lumberyard and buy a new slab, and that new one hung perfect in 45 minutes flat. Has anyone else just tossed a door that was giving them grief?

Tossed a custom French door into the dumpster last spring after two days of fighting it.

Did that once with a window. Brand new custom order, measured twice, still wrong. Smashed it with a hammer in the driveway. Felt amazing honestly. Sometimes you just gotta know when to quit and start over.

Three measurements. He said he measured three times before cutting. That was our shop rule. Smashed the frame into a landscaping trailer anyway. Felt like you said.
