Changed my mind about prefinished plywood after that job in Bellevue
I used to think prefinished plywood was just a way to charge more for the same stuff. But last month I did a closet system for a customer up in Bellevue and they insisted on using it. I figured I'd just fight with it like always, chipping the edges and fighting the slippery surface. But man, once I got into the rhythm of cutting it with my Festool track saw and a fine tooth blade, it actually cut cleaner than anything I'd ever put poly on myself. The finish on that stuff is baked on way harder than anything I can spray in my garage. Plus I saved like 3 days not having to sand and seal everything after assembly. The customer was happy and I didn't have to worry about getting glue on the face and making a mess. Has anyone else found a trick for dealing with the edge banding on those prefinished sheets without it peeling up?
