Burned $150 on a 'professional' chisel set that chipped on the first job

I saw this 6-piece chisel set at the big box store for $150 and figured it was a good deal for some upgrades. First use trimming a door hinge mortise and the edge chipped on some old pine, not even any knots. My old $30 set from years ago never did that. Anyone else had luck with one brand over another for chisels that actually hold up?

@james672 nailed it. Used to trust the price tag but now I know better.

Funny you say that because I used to think price meant quality with tools. But after a $80 set chipped on me last month I'm starting to think brand loyalty is overrated too.
