Vent: The interview process went from handshakes to 5 round Zoom gauntlets overnight
Back in 2011 I got a job in St. Louis after one phone call and a sit down with the manager. We talked about baseball for 20 minutes, he asked if I could start Monday, done. Now I just finished round 4 of some online test and a panel interview with people I'll never see again. They want a portfolio, a presentation, and a personality quiz. When did hiring get so long? Has anyone actually gotten a job where the process took over a month and felt worth it?

Went through 6 rounds for a marketing gig in 2019, including a 2 hour case study where they watched me on camera the whole time. Got the job, quit after 3 months because the place was a disaster.
