Turned down a $4 raise to stay at a job I actually like, and my dad thinks I'm crazy
Two jobs ago I was making $19 an hour at a small print shop in Dayton, and a bigger company offered me $23 to do basically the same work. I sat on it for four days and ended up staying, mostly because my boss let me leave at 3 to pick up my kid and the new place wanted nights. That was three years back and I'm at $22 now, so the gap closed on its own. My dad still brings it up at cookouts like I turned down a fortune. Has anyone else picked the easier schedule over the bigger check, and did it work out or bite you later?
