TIL that asking for a raise is way easier with numbers to back it up
Sat down with my boss last Tuesday after I tracked my sales metrics for 6 months straight. Having that spreadsheet showing I brought in 22% more revenue than last year made the conversation totally different than the last time I just asked. Anyone else found that hard data changes how management responds to you?

Yeah actually that's a good point but I gotta say something about the tracking part. 6 months of data is solid but your boss probably already had that number from the system, they just didn't care until you showed you cared enough to bring it. I did the same thing with my customer satisfaction scores and my manager literally said "oh I saw that in the quarterly report" but the fact I walked in with my own printout made it feel like I was taking ownership. Numbers matter but the way you present them matters just as much honestly.

Kinda wild how just having a folder with your name on it changes the whole vibe though. Like even if the boss has the numbers already, walking in with a physical thing makes it feel more real. Maybe it's just me but there's something about handing over a printout that shifts the power dynamic a little.
