The fake job posting that taught me a real lesson
A recruiter called me last Tuesday about a project manager role at a company I knew was on a hiring freeze. I spent 30 minutes on the phone before I realized the whole thing was a data collection scam. How do you guys screen for fake postings before you waste your time?

Heard a buddy spent an hour on a "dream" interview before finding out the company didn't even exist.

That "dream interview" line got me. I had something similar happen a few years back. I spent two hours getting ready for a phone interview with a startup that sounded perfect. Turns out the guy was just some dude trying to sell me on his "course" about how to get rich. Now I always check the company's website, look for a physical address, and search for employee reviews on Glassdoor before I even agree to a call. It takes ten minutes but saves you from that wasted hour.
