Serious question, how do you get a resume past the automated screen when you have a weird job history?
I drove a truck for 9 years and then did 2 years of dispatch work, and my resume kept getting auto rejected for office jobs until a recruiter in Dallas told me to mirror the exact words from the job posting in my summary line. Within 3 weeks I got 4 callbacks instead of zero. Has anyone else had luck with that, or is there a better way to handle a career switch like this?
Does it really count as beating the system if you're just repeating their own words back at them? That trick works because the software is dumb, not because you did anything special. Feels less like a skill and more like learning the secret handshake.
