Saw a hiring sign at the hardware store in Dayton that made me rethink my whole job hunt
I was picking up paint at the Ace on Far Hills in Dayton last week and the sign on the door said "hiring, $17 an hour, no experience needed, we train." What got me was that right under it someone had taped a little note saying "ask about the 90 day raise." I've been sending out resumes for office jobs for 4 months with zero callbacks, and here's a place offering more than my last job with a path up. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I've been chasing the wrong job listings this whole time. Has anyone made the jump from office work to a trade or retail spot like this, and did it actually lead anywhere?
