Pro tip: Don't take career advice from a Taco Bell drive-thru guy
I was stuck in the drive-thru line at a Taco Bell in Phoenix last month and the guy at the window asked what I did for work. When I said I was thinking about switching careers he spent 5 minutes telling me how to negotiate a raise using his experience with the Bell Breakfast Menu. I actually tried his method at work and it got me a $2,000 bump. Has anyone else gotten weird career tips from random strangers?

Oh man, that is wild but also kind of awesome. Love that you actually tried it and it worked, what a great story.

Woah, hold up. Is it really that serious though? I mean, sure it worked but one wrong move and you could have blown something up or started a fire. Not exactly a great story if you end up in the ER or your kitchen is wrecked. I get that it's cool to MacGyver something, but sometimes the risk just isn't worth the payoff. Glad it turned out okay, but I wouldn't exactly call it awesome.

50 bucks says that thing had to be held together with duct tape and a prayer halfway through. I've seen some rickety homemade setups in my time but that sounds next level. What was the scariest part, the spark or the pressure building up?
