Got laid off from my first sales job 3 weeks ago at 9am on a Tuesday
I was working at a software company in Columbus and got called into a 15 minute meeting that ended with HR walking me out. I took the weekend to feel bad about it, then started emailing 10 people a day from my old contact list just to ask what they were working on. Two of them actually set up calls, and one referred me to a role at a logistics company that pays $8k more. How long did you wait before you started reaching out to people after a layoff?
I used to think you had to wait a few weeks and update your resume first, but that's honestly backwards. Ten emails a day for a week beats polishing a doc nobody reads.
