Serious question, has anyone else noticed cheap plastic ramps beat the expensive metal ones for long term storage?
I've been storing my 94 Miata on jack stands in my garage in Reno for about 3 years now and last month I finally grabbed a set of those $40 plastic ramps from Walmart to take some weight off the pinch welds. My neighbor let me borrow his $200 metal ramps from Harbor Freight for comparison and honestly the cheap plastic ones felt way more stable and didn't scratch the floor at all. The metal ones slid around on my epoxy floor and one of the welds looked sketchy after just a couple uses. The plastic ones are rated for 2 tons each and I've had zero flex issues over 4 weeks of use. Is it just me or are people sleeping on the cheap plastic ramps for long term storage setups?
