Shoutout to the friend who told me 'Kings' was worth a second shot

A buddy of mine came over for pizza last Friday and saw I had given up on 'Kings' after just two episodes. He said, "You quit too early, it pulls together by episode five." I had written it off as one of those shows that got axed after one season on NBC back in 2009, so I assumed there was no point. Turns out I made it to the finale last night and now I am annoyed all over again that it never got a season two. Anyone else have a show they dropped early and only came back to because a friend pushed them?
