Stumbled on a trick to dry wet firewood in 10 minutes flat

Was on a trip in the Adirondacks last fall and my wood got soaked in a sudden downpour. I tried putting it near the fire but it just smoked, so I stuck a few logs in my empty camp stove pot and closed the lid. The heat from the pot dried them out fast enough to get a real fire going. Anyone else got a weird hack for wet wood?

Kinda feels like overcomplicating things honestly. Wet logs in a confined pot, that's just a steamer setup with extra steps. Why not just shave some dry bark off a dead standing tree or split the wet logs open to the dry core inside. That's always been my go to, takes like 2 minutes with a hatchet.

Haha true, people always try to reinvent the wheel when the simple fix is right there lol.
