My new sleeping pad popped on a rock in the Wind River Range

I was setting up camp near Island Lake and heard a sharp hiss. I had to patch it with the kit and sleep on a folded up rain jacket for two nights. What's the most durable pad you've used for rough ground?

Honestly, how sharp were those rocks? Ngl, I'm with @leo238 on this one. My old foam pad is ugly but it's never let me down on granite. I tried a fancy inflatable once and spent the whole trip worrying about it. Now I just take the foam and sleep fine.

Used to think foam was dumb, but that Wind River trip changed my mind.

I get what you're saying, but calling those rocks "sharp" is a little off. The real problem out there is how the Ground is just uneven with little pointy bits hiding under dirt. I had a similar blowout near Titcomb Basin and it was a tiny sharp pebble, not even a big rock. @leo238 is right, foam pads are basically bulletproof on that kind of terrain. I switched to a closed cell foam pad after that trip and I don't stress about punctures anymore. It's not as soft as an inflatable but you get used to it after a couple nights. Plus it doubles as a good sit pad for lunch breaks.
