I finally bought a $200 camp stove and it was a mistake

Everyone raves about the Jetboil Minimo for backpacking, but I tried it at Big Sur last weekend and it took forever to boil water in any wind. My buddy's old $30 coleman propane stove from 2015 cooked dinner in half the time. Am I missing something or are these fancy stoves overpriced for real use?

Nah man you're missing the point entirely. Jetboils are for ultralight guys who care about fitting everything in a tiny pack, not for actually cooking efficiently. Your buddy's Coleman is a beast but it weighs like a brick and takes up half your trunk. Different tools for different uses.

Stop pretending weight doesn't matter when you're hiking miles with it.
