Got a nylon tarp stuck to a tent pole in 90 degree heat last Saturday

Was setting up near Lake Tahoe and the tarp basically melted onto the pole. Had to peel it off with a knife and it left sticky residue. Anybody know a fix for getting melted nylon off aluminum poles?

Goo Gone is your friend here, just let it soak for a minute before you start rubbing. Also a little isopropyl alcohol on a rag works if you don't have that.

WD-40 works better than Goo Gone for sticker residue in my experience, and it's cheaper.
