Stumbled onto a trick for cleaning sticky aperture blades with a drop of Ronsonol instead of full disassembly

Tried dabbing a tiny bit of lighter fluid on a stuck set of blades on a beat-up Canon FD 50mm f1.4 I got for $20, let it sit 30 seconds, and the blades snapped free without me having to pull the whole lens apart - anyone else rely on this shortcut or am I asking for trouble down the line?

Doesn't the lighter fluid leave a residue that could mess with the glass coatings over time? I'd rather just throw the lens in an ultrasonic cleaner with some distilled water.

Spray lighter fluid on a multi-thousand dollar lens and then act surprised when the coatings start peeling off? @dakotawells, you're smarter than that. Ultrasonic cleaners are fine for some things but they can loosen up internal elements too if you aren't careful. I'll stick with a rocket blower and a microfiber cloth, thanks.
