Noticed something strange at a vintage camera swap in Chicago last month

I went to a vintage camera swap in Chicago last month and almost every table had at least one Canonet QL17 with a stuck shutter. People were selling them for parts for $20 or less. Is there something about that model that makes the shutter blades seize up more than others?

Hit it with a heat gun on low for like 20 seconds, then worked a tiny bit of lighter fluid in around the blades with a toothpick. Fired right up after that and hasn't stuck since.

My buddy grabbed one of those for ten bucks thinking he got a steal. Spent like three weekends trying to unstick it and finally gave up. Now it's just sitting on his shelf as a paperweight.
