Just hit 50 shutter replacements on a single Nikon F3 model this year

It's a number that really got my attention, because I mostly work on newer mirrorless stuff. The F3 is a classic, but I didn't expect that many to need that specific fix (the horizontal titanium shutter curtain, you know). It makes me wonder if a batch of them are hitting a wear point at the same time. Has anyone else seen a weird spike in a specific repair for an older camera model lately?

Yeah, the "horizontal titanium shutter curtain" thing. I saw a post on a repair forum last month where a guy said he was seeing the same wear pattern on a bunch of F3s from the same early 80s run.

That "same early 80s run" theory is interesting, but 50 cameras is a pretty small sample size for a model they made for like 20 years. Could just be a coincidence or a local trend.

Saw a similar post about that, maybe @julia843 is onto something.
