Fixed a Rolleiflex shutter in 2 hours that had been sitting broken on my bench since January
I had a customer's 3.5F Rolleiflex taking up space on my bench since January because the shutter was stuck at 1/500 and I could not figure out why. Last Tuesday I was cleaning up and decided to give it one more look before calling the guy to say I could not fix it. Turned out a tiny piece of old lube had hardened on the slow speed escapement and was jamming the whole works, took me 20 minutes with some naphtha and a toothpick. The customer was so happy he brought me a six pack of Shiner Bock the next day. What is the longest something has sat on your bench before you finally cracked it?
