Figured out I was cleaning focus screens with the wrong cloth for a decade
I was using a standard microfiber cloth on my Nikon F2's focus screen and wondered why it always looked hazy. Then I scratched a test screen with the same cloth under a loupe. Switched to a Pec Pad and the difference was immediate. Anyone else find out they ruined a screen this way?

Standard microfiber cloth," yeah I used the same thing for years on my old Pentax and wondered why my shots always looked soft. Turns out I was basically buffing the screen with a mild abrasive, made everything look like I was shooting through fog. Swapped to a lens cleaning pen thing and it was like I got a new camera.

Actually those lens pens can pick up grit from your pocket and scratch the glass way worse than a clean microfiber ever would.
