Unpopular opinion: the guy at the supply house in Boise was right, don't staple coax to the stud
I used to zip staples through the jacket like everyone else on my crew, never had a callback in 4 years so I figured it was fine. Then this older installer at the supply house on Fairview told me he'd seen water wick down the staple holes into the connector and rot the shield out from the inside after about 18 months. Pulled a line off a wall in Meridian last month that he was dead right about, green corrosion all through the braid. Anyone else running nail-on clips instead, and do you bother with a drip loop above the box?
