The day my old crimper gave out on a third-story drop ceiling
I was up in a drop ceiling last Wednesday over in Maplewood, had about 16 feet of RG6 left to terminate when my Klein crimper just snapped the handle clean off. Must have been 12 years old, I figured that thing was indestructible but nope. Ended up using my backup pair from the truck that I hate because they leave ridges but they got the job done. Anybody got a recommendation for a crimper that lasts through daily abuse without breaking the bank?

Happened to me two years ago with the same brand! Snapped right at the pivot point while I was doing a termination in a tight crawlspace. I was so mad because that crimper had seen me through like 15 years of work. My backup pair is some cheap no name brand that pinches too hard and leaves those ugly ridges you mentioned. I ended up switching to a different brand after that, the one with the rubberized handles that actually last. Still using that one now and it's holding up way better than the old one ever did after the first year. Really makes you wonder if they changed the metal formula on those classic ones or something.
