The before and after on these new crimpers blew my mind

I switched from those old Klein crimpers I had for 8 years to a set of Weidmuller ones last month and my coax terminations went from 3 fails out of 10 to maybe 1 bad connection in 50. The difference was the die alignment was way more consistent, no more half-crimped ends. Has anyone else noticed that much of a jump switching brands or am I just lucky with this pair?

My crimps used to look like a raccoon chewed on them, so I feel your pain. Sounds like you hit the jackpot with that switch, I'm just hoping my luck holds out past the first 50.

Those raccoon crimps, man, I know exactly what you mean. I remember my first set of real climbing shoes, I had these old La Sportiva Tarantulaces and after about two months the rubber on the edges looked like I'd been scraping them against a cheese grater. I was too cheap to resole them so I just kept trying to climb on these nubby little stubs until I finally gave in and bought new ones. It's brutal when you finally find that perfect shoe and you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. I really hope your luck holds out too, because when you find a good pair it feels like you won the lottery.
