Spent 3 hours chasing a signal drop on a Wednesday job in Phoenix
Was installing a new line for a customer and the modem kept losing signal every 10 minutes. Turned out the grounding block was loose from the factory and the barrel connector was barely touching. Anyone ever had a new part fail like that out of the box?

Not really a big deal, just tighten it up.

Doubt it's that simple, betty. A loose grounding block from the factory tells me the QC on that batch is shot. Had a similar issue with a brand new splitter last month where the threads were machined wrong. Tightening it helped for a day, then the whole thing oxidized and caused a full dropout. This could be a bigger headache down the road, especially in Phoenix heat where metal expands like crazy. You check the connector for any wiggle after cinching it down?
