PSA: the $14 magnetic wristband saved my butt on a 3-story drop, after I dropped the same crimper twice
I always thought those magnetic wristbands were a gimmick for guys who like gadgets more than they like working. Then last Tuesday I was up on a ladder at a house in Beaverton running coax to a second-floor jack, and I watched my $40 crimper bounce off the siding and land in some bushes. That was the second time in one job. I dug a magnetic band out of my bag, the kind with the strong magnet in the strap, and clipped it on. Cost me $14 at the supply house. All my bits and the crimper stuck right to my wrist the rest of the day, and I never had to climb back down once. For the money it is the best little thing I have bought for the truck in a while. What is the one cheap tool you keep grabbing that you did not expect to matter so much?
