Just realized how much new houses have changed the install game
I was out at a new development in Avondale last week doing a standard cable drop and it hit me how different things are now compared to when I started in 2009. These new homes have all this spray foam insulation that makes fishing walls a total nightmare. I spent 45 minutes just trying to get a line from the attic to the living room wall plate. The old houses I used to work in had blown-in insulation that was way easier to push through. Plus they build these houses so fast the studs are all crooked and the drywall gaps are everywhere. It makes mounting plates a pain because nothing is level. Has anyone else noticed newer builds are way harder to work in compared to houses from the 80s and 90s?
