I learned a figure-eight cable wrap from an experienced installer

My cables were always a tangled mess in my toolkit. Another installer taught me the figure-eight method for wrapping them. Now, my setups are faster and I have fewer headaches with knots. This habit has made my daily routine much easier.

Is wrapping cables in a figure-eight actually life-changing? I see people get excited about this stuff, but it's just a way to avoid knots. Cables tangling is annoying, sure, but calling it a daily headache seems over the top. Most installers I know just toss cables in a bag and deal with it. Learning new tricks is fine, but let's not act like it's some huge breakthrough. It's a cable wrap method, not a cure for cancer.

Yeah, I get what you mean about it not being a cure for cancer, @foster.wade. I used to just throw cables in a bag too, but figuring out the figure-eight thing actually saved me from daily tangles. Have you given it a try yet?
