Hit 2,000 terminations and my hand still cramps like day one
I keep a tally on my clipboard for every connector I terminate, just a habit from my first year in the field. Last Thursday I hit 2,000, and honestly I thought it would feel like some kind of milestone. Instead I was kneeling in a crawlspace in Fresno, crimping an RG6 for a customer who kept asking why their internet was slow. My right hand was locking up exactly like it did back when I was doing my first 50 jobs. The only difference now is I know which tools to grab and when to take a break. I never expected the physical part to stay this rough, it kind of humbles you. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and found the body wears down slower than the skills build up? I'm curious if the hand cramps ever really go away or if you just learn to live with them.
Noticed the same thing with parenting, I've changed three thousand diapers and my back still aches like week one. Guess some things just wear you down no matter how much you learn to work around them.
