Four hours chasing a ground fault in a house with chickens
Last Tuesday in Auburn I pulled up to a remodel where every outlet in the back bedroom was dead, and I figured it would be a 20 minute check. Turned out the homeowner's new chicken coop wiring was tapped into that circuit, and a mouse had chewed through the neutral splice inside a weatherproof box under the nesting area. Has anyone else had livestock or pets lead them to a fault that should have been obvious in ten minutes, or am I the only one who now asks about animal setups on every service call?

Classic case of the obvious hiding in plain sight, kinda like how most people never find their lost keys until they stop looking. Chickens or not, something always turns a quick job into an all-day puzzle.
