Customer told me their coax cable was 'leaking internet' and asked if I had a patch kit

Got a call last Tuesday out in Maplewood, some older lady says her internet keeps cutting out every time it rains. She swore the cables were leaking. Thought she meant water at first. Showed up and she had a tube of silicone caulk in her hand ready for me to use. Took me 20 minutes just to explain how cable signals work. Anyone else ever get a homeowner who thinks their internet is a physical liquid?

Did she think you were gonna patch the internet like a pool liner?

Haha @rowan666 exactly my thought! She looked at me dead serious and goes "just patch it up" like the internet was a pool liner flapping in the wind. Once had a customer swear up and down if I just threw some tinfoil on the router it would boost the signal. Tried explaining it doesn't work that way and she told me I wasn't trying hard enough. People really think we can just slap a bandaid on anything digital.
