Changed my mind about those push-fit coax connectors

I always called them 'cheater connectors' and stuck with crimps, but a guy on a job in Tempe showed me his install from 2 years ago with zero service calls. What finally made you switch or stick with your old method?

Oh man, I was the SAME way. I swore they were junk for years. My stubbornness probably cost me a solid hour of labor per house, easy. The joke's on me, I guess, because now I'm the guy telling new guys to just use the push fits.

Read a forum post from a guy who tested them to failure... he said the push fits actually held a better seal in salt spray tests than some crimps. That got me looking into it. My old boss called them a hack job too, but the specs don't lie. Started using them on outdoor drops last summer and haven't had a callback yet. The time saved adds up way more than I thought.

What salt spray test specs convinced you to switch?
