Burst coax cable in a crawlspace, now I bring a 5 gallon bucket everywhere
After my second waterlogged line in one week under a house in Wichita, I started cutting the jacket back an extra 3 inches before the connector and I haven't had a single repeat call since, anyone else use the bucket trick to keep the compression tool dry down there?

Ditch the bucket and just wrap the tool end in an old towel that stays in your bag. I've done the crawlspace crawl enough times to know water finds everything anyway. Extra jacket trimming is smart, that's the real fix here. Keep the compression head dry by sliding a latex glove over it between connections. Cheap and it works every time.
