Am I the only one who used to hate pre-terminated fiber cables?
Last Tuesday I had a job replacing a damaged fiber run in an office building downtown. I always swore by field-terminating because I thought it was more reliable. But after fighting with a bad cleaver for 45 minutes and still getting a dirty splice, I gave up and grabbed a pre-terminated LC cable from the truck. It clicked right in and tested perfect, and the job took half the time. Has anyone else made the switch and found it saves you headaches?

Admit it, I was the guy who thought pre-terminated was for people who didn't know how to properly scratch a fiber. Then I spent an hour trying to clean a splice and my own reflection in the cleaver was laughing at me. Pre-terms win every time now.

Oh man, I felt that in my soul. Nothing like staring at your own dumb face in a cleaver to realize you've been the problem all along. Pre-terms for the win, seriously.
