7 years of trimming coax with side cutters before a senior tech pointed out the scorched braid

Took a veteran installer from Comcast looking over my shoulder on a MDU job to show me how the crushed dielectric was causing intermittent reflections on my sweep tests, and now I'm wondering how many callbacks I could have avoided if I'd just sprung for the proper coax strippers.
