Rant: zip ties are great, until they are not

I used to zip tie everything tight, like every cable in my home office had to be snug against the desk leg. Then my new monitor stand arrived and the short cable from the power brick would not reach because I had locked the slack into a bundle. I had to cut five zip ties with a knife and almost sliced my thumb. Now I use velcro wraps and leave loops of extra cable, and I can actually move things around without a rewire job. Anyone else switch from zip ties to velcro for the same reason?

Yep, learned that lesson too. Velcro is the only way now.
