My uncle swore zip ties were a one way trip, so I bought the velcro kind and proved him wrong
When I moved into my place in Toledo two years ago, my uncle watched me start wiring up my desk and said zip ties are forever, you'll never redo it once they're on. I ignored him and used 40 of them anyway, then tried to swap out a monitor and had to cut the entire bundle apart with nail clippers. After that mess I picked up a $7 roll of velcro straps, and now I can pull one cord out and put it back in about 10 seconds. He came over for a game last month and just stared at the back of my desk without saying a word. Anyone got a trick for the tangled mess where the power strip meets the wall, or is that just a lost cause?

Velcro is the move for sure but I still keep a bag of zips around for the stuff that never moves, like the run behind my entertainment center that hasnt been touched in 3 years. As for the power strip spot, thats not a lost cause, grab one of those little cable boxes that hide the strip and the plug mess inside, then run your cords out the side slots. Costs like 15 bucks and it turned the worst part of my setup into the cleanest.
