Saw a local shop's drawer fronts with 1/16" reveals and it hit different
Went to a custom cabinet shop open house in Portland last Saturday and every single drawer front had a consistent 1/16 inch gap, no wobble on any of maybe 40 drawers. I usually run 1/8" and now I'm wondering if I should tighten it up or if that's just asking for trouble with seasonal movement, has anyone else tried that tight of a reveal on painted maple?
Man, 1/16 on painted maple is bold! Did the shop say anything about how they prep the wood before paint, like letting it acclimate in the shop for weeks first? Curious if they're banking on the paint sealing it up enough that seasonal swing doesn't matter.
