My old boss swore by prefinished plywood, I fought it for years

Jim, the guy who ran the shop I apprenticed at in Pittsburgh, kept pushing prefinished maple ply for all the cabinet boxes. I thought he was just being lazy, so I kept ordering raw and spraying everything myself. After 4 years of fighting grain raise, sanding dust in the finish, and touch-up mismatches, I finally tried his way on a kitchen job last month. Cut the build time by a full day and the inside of those cabinets looks better than anything I ever sprayed. Any other finishers here make the switch and never look back?
