I finally switched back to a hand plane for scribing after 6 months with a power sander
Three years ago I bought a $200 random orbit sander thinking it would speed up scribing cabinet ends to walls. Last month I was fitting a maple run in a house over on Dexter Ave and the sander kept rounding over my edges no matter how careful I was, so I grabbed my old No. 4 and it just clicked. Took maybe 20 minutes longer per end but the fit was dead on and I barely touched the caulk gun. Any of you still scribe by hand or am I just getting stubborn in my old age?
