We almost skipped the sewer scope inspection to save $350

Our agent in Phoenix pushed hard for it, and the camera found a cracked line under the driveway that would have cost us over $8k to fix. The seller had to cover the full repair before we closed. Has anyone else had a big find on a home inspection they almost passed on?

Man, that's a huge save. Makes my own cheapness look bad. I almost skipped the foundation inspection on my place because the house looked solid. The guy found a corner sinking an inch and a half, which explained the weird door frame. Cost me a few grand to fix, but it would have been a nightmare later. Always feels dumb to pay for it until it pays for itself ten times over.

Disagree about it always paying off... my buddy paid for a super thorough inspection, they flagged minor stuff but missed the ancient wiring hidden behind new drywall. Cost him way more later. Like noahchen said, sometimes it's just luck if they catch the big thing or not.

Glad you caught that sinking corner. Did the inspector give you a clear reason why it happened? Like bad soil or poor drainage? Always wonder if those fixes are permanent or just a band aid.
