The week I looked at 12 houses and only 1 was worth my time

Last month in Portland I scheduled showings for 7 days straight. One place had black mold in the basement, another had a cracked foundation the inspector found, and three others were listed way over what they were worth. The one decent house got an offer accepted before I could even write mine up. Has anyone else had a week where you just felt like you wasted a ton of time driving around?

Used to think people were overreacting when they complained about the housing search. Then I did five showings in one weekend myself. One place had water damage so bad the floor was buckling, another had a weird smell that turned out to be a dead animal in the wall. By Sunday night I was just driving around feeling dumb. Totally get the frustration, that week sounds like a full month of bad luck rolled into seven days.

Honestly I kinda disagree. I've done the whole housing search thing too and yeah some places are rough but that guys story sounds more like he went in with zero expectations and got surprised. You gotta set the bar low from the start. Dont expect a perfect place for your budget.
