The property tax estimate on Zillow was off by $240 a month
I was pre-approved for a house in Austin, TX and figured my payment from the online calculator was fine. Turns out the site's tax estimate was based on the old owner's rate, not the new assessed value after sale. My realtor caught it during the closing cost review, and it added $240 a month I hadn't planned for. Has anyone else gotten burned by that, or did your lender double-check the numbers before you signed?
