Still kicking myself over a home inspection mistake in Phoenix
I bought a house in Phoenix 3 years ago and skipped the sewer scope inspection to save $150. Last week I found out tree roots had cracked the whole main line and it cost me $8,500 to dig up the front yard and replace it. Has anyone else had a tiny home inspection savings turn into a massive bill later?

Is it really that big of a deal though? Like yeah, $8,500 hurts, but you're paying for a tool that (if it works) makes you money back. I get the shock for sure, @verab28, but a lot of stuff in this space is just expensive upfront. It's not like you're stuck paying that every month or something.
