Rant: I spent $400 on a sewer scope inspection and it saved me from a total nightmare
My realtor in Phoenix tried to talk me out of it, saying the house was too new to have problems. The inspector found a crushed main line under the driveway that would have cost over $15k to fix. I made the seller cover the full repair before closing. Has anyone else had a realtor push back on an inspection that ended up being crucial?

Can't believe your realtor said a new house couldn't have problems.

Yeah, new builds can have tons of hidden issues... get a good inspector anyway.

Got a neighbor who bought a brand new house and found out the plumbing was backwards in half the bathrooms. @carr.willow is right - even with a warranty, getting someone to come fix it took months of phone calls. Better to catch things before you move in than deal with the headache later.
