Old mortgage rates still make me laugh when I see them

I was cleaning out my grandma's files last week, found her mortgage paperwork from 1972 in Dallas. She bought a 3 bedroom house for $24,000 with a 7.5% rate. I just locked in at 6.8% on a place that cost 15 times that. It's wild how the numbers flipped. Anyone else run across old housing costs that blew your mind?

Oh those 1970s rates were actually closer to 8 or 9 percent by the end of the decade!
