My worst home inspection week - three houses in five days turned into a nightmare

I scheduled three home inspections in one week last month here in Austin, and it was a disaster from start to finish. On Tuesday, I found a cracked foundation in a 1970s ranch that would cost $12,000 to fix, and the seller refused to budge. Wednesday I walked into a flip that looked great until I opened the attic and saw black mold covering half the insulation. Friday I spent four hours at a cute bungalow only to discover the main sewer line was completely collapsed under the driveway. I literally sat in my car after the third one and just stared at the steering wheel for 20 minutes. Has anyone else ever had a week where every single house you looked at had a deal breaker?

Totally feel this man. I've noticed the same thing with basically every big purchase decision I've made lately. It's like the universe just lines up all the garbage to show you at once so you'll settle for something mediocre. Had a similar streak trying to find a used car last year, first three were total lemons with hidden problems the mechanics caught. Makes you wonder if sellers are getting more shady or if we're just getting better at spotting the nonsense. Bet the next house you look at will be fine though, that's how it always works for me after a cursed week lol.

Stop being so dramatic about it. I swear people act like missing out on a few houses or cars is some kind of cosmic curse. It's just a bad week, not the universe trying to break your spirit. The seller probably got a better offer and the other two had actual issues that you dodged, so really you're winning here. Life's too short to treat every setback like a sign from above. Maybe chill out and go look at more houses instead of turning this into some deep existential thing.
