I started driving by houses I liked on weeknights instead of Sundays

Noticed a cute house in Denver with no open house signs, so I drove by on a Tuesday at 7pm and saw the owners outside gardening. Chatted them up, found out they were planning to list in 3 weeks, and we made a deal before it ever hit Zillow. Has anyone else had luck just knocking on doors in neighborhoods you want to buy in?
